We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Galois. It was clean and our room was a good size- there was enough room to store 4 suitcases and 2 people comfortably. It was very close to the train station (Shin-Okubo) for the Yamamote line (about a 3 minute walk) and also to another station (Okubo Station) for the Chuo-Sobu line which was really handy for accessing different places more smoothly. This second station is a little further away but only takes about 5 mins to walk to. We spilt our trip up by going to Osaka and Kyoto for 5 days in the middle of our Tokyo trip. We stayed at the Galois for all our time in Tokyo and we arranged with them to keep our luggage at the hotel while we were travelling for 500 yen per night per item. This was a huge help as it meant that we could take back packs while travelling on the Shinkansen and around Osaka and Kyoto. The facilities at the hotel is also fantastic- they have a vending machine, microwave, ice machine, laundry machines and baths. The staff were also very helpful. We would 100% stay at the Galois again.

I stayed at this hotel for six nights and would highly recommend it. It’s in a fantastic location—just 100 meters from the train station and within walking distance of Shinjuku. Check-in was super easy, and the staff were incredibly polite. The room was well-equipped with robes and slippers, and I appreciated the thoughtful touch of fresh towels and bottled water left outside my door each day when I didn’t request room cleaning. The blackout blind was a great feature for a good night’s sleep. One of the highlights was the luggage transfer service to Kyoto, which cost around £12 for next-day delivery—perfect for avoiding the hassle of carrying my heavy suitcase. The hotel is also surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shops, making it convenient for dining and exploring. The public bath, while small, was a great way to relax after a long day of walking. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I’d definitely return!

The location is excellent. A 1-2 minute walk from the Shin-Okubo Station, which means you're connected via the Yamanote Line to most of Central Tokyo and you're about 5-minutes by train to Shinjuku Station if a transfer would be faster or if you need to get somewhere further away. If you're staying out in Shinjuku past midnight, it's also only a 20-minute walk from the central area near Shinjuku Station/Kabukicho/Omoide Yokucho. The hotel itself was clean, seemed quite new, with comfy beds, and average sized rooms for a Japanese business hotel. I only spoke to one staff member, who was extremely cordial, when I was checking in. But there's also an automated check-in and I just used the kiosk when I was checking out. Especially for the price, it's a wonderful home base if you're looking to be close to the action in Shinjuku and have convenient access to transit around to the rest of Tokyo.

The Hotel stay was very good. The staff are friendly and it is a great atmosphere. I don't recall being bothered by noise and was able to rest comfortably. As a solo traveler, I booked a double room which was comfortable. I think if someone were to share the room, it might be a little cramped especially if you have multiple large suitcases and I may recommend a larger room. For me alone in the double room, the space was comfortable for my large suitcase and laptop bag. The table was great for my laptop and two monitors to do my work. I booked to include a breakfast for every day of my stay. I cannot fault the taste. It is very good and delivered very quickly. This hotel was, I would daresay, perfectly situated. It is quiet in the area and a short walk to the train station. If you just walk around, areas such as Shinjuku can be walked to within 20 minutes. Overall it is great!

The location was excellent. Very close to Shin-Okubo station which lies on the circle line. Only one stop away from Shinjuku, but much quieter. No noise at all from our room. It is a good central location to visit many other attractions. Lots of cheap restaurants and clothes shops in the neighborhood. We booked two rooms for a family of four, and the rooms were on the same floor only a few doors apart. Great facilities - free Onsen, coffee machine, ice machine. The rooms were spacious by Tokyo standards, and well laid out. Enough floor space to not be tripping over luggage, and enough space at the foot of the bed so that you don't need to climb over your partner to get to out! The room had a large desk and plenty of shelf space to keep it tidy and organised.
